A clipping lamp includes a clip 11 for clipping to a flat object, a shell 21 pivotally connected to the clip and comprising an illuminating element supported on the shell, a reeling unit in the shell, and a wire 45 wound on the reeling unit and connected to a plug 40, such as a USB plug. The lamp may further comprise: two jaws 11, with a spring 17 in indents between them; pivoting on pins 24 and having pads 15. The shell (fig 2) can comprise two halves 21 between legs of the jaws 11; an aperture 29 for an illuminator such as LED 26, circuit board 25; a lens 27; a cut-out 22 for stowing plug 40; and an axle 28 for the reeling unit 30. Reeling unit 30 may comprise a reel 31, ratchets 32 and a restraint 34 preventing reel rotation in one direction, and a coil spring 33 to retract the cable when restraint 34 is released by button 38. The lamp can be clipped to a flat panel of a computer or laptop (fig 6,) of and the shell pivoted outward whereupon light emitting diodes 26 illuminate the flat panel display. |
