The wind energy plant has a control circuit for operation under limited speed and voltage source. A connection contact (A1) of an armature winding is connected with a connection contact (E1) of an excitation winding. A contact (R1) of a load resistor (R-II) is provided over an energy converter component (S1), where the connection contact of another armature winding is connected with another connection contact (E2) of the excitation winding over another energy converter component (S2). The former energy converter component is interconnected in motor operation and blocked in generator operation.
