The method involves fixing a side (C) of an outlet of wave guide such that a chosen fundamental mode is within a bandwidth of a microwave source. Other sides (A, B) of the wave guide are set such that a guide section does not propagate the fundamental mode in the bandwidth. An arbitrary side (D) of the wave guide is set. Height (h1, h2, h3, h4) and/or length of a thick lamination of the source are determined to obtain performance of the source set by a given application. An independent claim is also included for a thick plate electroformed monobloc microwave source comprising a thick lamination. |
