A valve operating mechanism for and a flow control device for enabling the dispensing of predetermined amounts of a liquid, for example, alcoholic beverages. The valve operating mechanism controls the operation of physically spaced liquid inlet and outlet valves of the liquid flow control device and includes a main body 2 with a liquid receiving chamber/region, wherein the operating mechanism includes a lever 25, an inlet valve operating member, an outlet valve operating member and means for interlocking the sequence of operation of the inlet and outlet valves including the displacement of locating means carried by the inlet and outlet valves in associated L- shaped slots. |
