The system has a control unit coupled for controlling information of display area (5) of a display device. The control unit comprises a context analysis unit that detects and analyzes status information and determines size of input portion (21) of the display area for display of operating information and size of output portion (22) of the display area for display of output information according to the analysis. Logic is formed such that detected position of an operating element is used for producing control command, where detected position correlates with control information. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating functions or vehicle system of a vehicle.
