The bonnet (2) has a bonnet liner (6) fixed below an external skin (4) e.g. curved sheet, and including exterior longitudinal edges provided with a set of liner flanges (10) extending towards bottom. Each liner flange is fixed to a corresponding skin flange (8) at a fixation point (22) e.g. welding point. The skin and liner flanges respectively comprise recesses e.g. notches (14, 16), which are arranged with respect to each other and adjacent to the fixation point so as to increase the deformation of the bonnet near the fixation point during an impact with a pedestrian.
