<p>A method of gaining maintenance access safely to an elevated and laterally displaced area on a commercial refrigerator (15, Fig 6) or freezer, the refrigerator or freezer having an accessible under area (17, Fig 6) and area for the storage and/or display of goods (16, Fig 6) which projects laterally of the area to be accessed, the method comprising positioning an access device in the under area of the refrigerator or freezer whereby the leg engages with the ground in a location (17, Fig 6) generally underneath or beyond the working platform.. The access device comprises steps 2, an elevated working platform 15 which extends away from the foot of the steps, and a support leg 1 which extends horizontally from the steps and is adapted to be locatable in the under area of the refrigerator or freezer. An access device for use in the method is also defined.</p> |
