The present invention relates to a novel tobacco cultivar designated AOB 174, which has low to intermediate nicotine content. The invention provides seeds of the cultivar AOB 174, plants and parts thereof of the cultivar AOB 174, a tissue culture derived from the cultivar AOB 174, hybrids produced from cultivar AOB 174 and lines derived from cultivar AOB 174, as well as genetically modified forms of the foregoing plants and tissue culture. Also provided are methods of producing cultivar AOB 174 plants, cultivar AOB 174 hybrid plants, and tobacco lines derived from cultivar AOB 174. In addition, products produced from the plants of the present invention are provided.
