<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve starting performance in a low loss, low noise switching power supply consisting of a voltage feedback, self-excitation complex resonance type series converter and capable of significant simplification of circuitry and cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: A secondary smoothing circuit is divided into a capacitor C31 of small capacity provided on the side of secondary windings L21 and L22, and a capacitor C32 of large capacity provided on the side of output end, which are connected in parallel with each other, and an impedance circuit Z for holding a high impedance until the state of charge of the capacitor C31 reaches a predetermined level is provided therebetween.
