PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an ink ribbon exposed to a printing/supply part of a ribbon cassette from soiling, and also, to prevent the ink layer of the ink ribbon from being touched with user's hand, in the state where the ink ribbon is not loaded to a printer. SOLUTION: Regarding the ribbon cassette with the print/supply part PP formed between a first bobbin housing part 12 and a second bobbin housing part 14, for extending an ink sheet S so that the sheet S may be supplied for printing, the ribbon cassette includes: a slide groove part constituting the print/supply part PP, formed in a surface part disposed opposite to the conveying direction of the ink sheet S; a cover member 5 slidably disposed in the slide groove part, for covering the ink surface of the ink sheet S extending in the print/supply part PP when being not loaded to the printer, and for exposing the ink surface of the ink sheet extending in the print/supply part PP when being loaded to the printer; and a cover housing part 7 where a housing groove part communicating with the slide groove part is formed, configured to retreat the cover member 5 from the print/supply part PP and to house the cover member 5 therein.
