PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which is effective for surely irradiating the area around the end of the tool bit. SOLUTION: This hammering tool comprises a drive mechanism 113 for driving the tool bit 119, by linearly operating in the direction orthogonal to the rotating-axis direction of a motor 111. A first housing 105 storing the motor 111 and extending in the direction of the rotation axis of the motor and a second housing 107 for storing the driving mechanism 113, extended in the longitudinal direction of the tool bit 119, and having the tool bit 119 attached to the end region thereof are arranged continuously with has other in a crossed state. The hammer, further, has an illumination device 151. The illumination device 151 comprises a light-emitting part for illuminating the region of the tool bit 119 around the end, including the end of the tool bit 119 and an electric cable for supplying current to the light-emitting part.
