The system has a safety belt (2) arranged at a side of a vehicle seat (1) and connected with a belt lock (4). A belt extender (3) includes a belt guiding device (31) for guiding the belt, and a movement device (32) for moving the device from resting position to extending position. A belt buckle (5) is arranged on other side of the seat. The lock is inserted and locked into the buckle. A belt holder (6) is arranged adjacent to the buckle and holds the lock in the extending position. The holder pulls the belt to the buckle, inserts the lock into the buckle and locks the lock with the buckle.
