The gear has a worm nut supported by a bearing (42) with an external surface axially shifted with respect to an external teeth (34) of the worm. A thrust washer (38) surrounds the external surface of the bearing, and has a projection (40) engaged between two external teeth of the nut. The external teeth of the nut have an external diameter whose dimension increases towards the axial zones of the nut.
