PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate data for label printing facilitating management of a recording medium. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus generates data for print based on the medium information acquired from a disk 112 and the information of thumbnail images of image information or the information of recording capacity which are recorded in the disk 112, so that label images clearly showing the contents of the data recorded in the disk can be easily generated and can be given to a user. In this way, the contents recorded in the disk are clearly shown, visibility is improved by a sense of uniformity in design used in disks in common and the information required to be reproduced afterwards, such as a format or type of disk, is laid out.
