PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive automatic document feeder and an image forming device without a special driving source for reverse rotation which can be switched to a reverse rotation direction by switching a conveyance passage linking with a switching means. SOLUTION: A gear 50 is provided on a same axis of a rotation fulcrum point axis of a switch claw 10 for switching a conveyance path of a document and gear trains 52, 53, 54 for transmitting a rotation driving force from a gear 50 to an reversing roller is provided for a gear supporting part 10b moving by linking the switch claw 10. The reversing roller 11 connects with a gear 51, the gear 51 links with the gear 53 when the switch claw 10 moves up (a position A) and links with the gear 54 when the switch claw 10 moves down (a position B). As the rotation drive direction of the reversing roller 11 is switched by the switch claw 10, a drive source can inverse only by rotation in a single direction. In other words, as power can be provided from the rotation drive source of only a single direction and a conveyance roller 5 which is a reading and conveyance means and a paper discharging roller 8 can share the drive source, it is possible to adopt an inexpensive structure.
