PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the recording and reproduction of display image data even if a video frame rate and an echo frame rate are different in an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 10 generates and records display image data by combining video image data with echo image data to reproduce a display image data group, or an assembly of the display image data. This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 10 has a rate comparison section 33 for comparing the dimensions of the video frame rate for acquiring the video image data and of the echo frame rate for acquiring the echo image data, a display image generation section 34 for combining the video image data with the echo data while interpolating the video image data and generating the display image data when the echo frame rate is larger than the video frame rate as the comparison result by the frame rate comparison section 33, and a display image recording section 35 for recording the display image data in an external storage device 29.
