PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing grafted seedlings, which comprises grafting scions of a parent tree to be increased into the branches of a bearing tree as a rootstock, and layering and cutting the scions to make the scions take roots, so as to obtain healthy and easily-growing grafted seedlings in a short period of time and also obtain a large number of grafted seedlings having the same properties at one time. SOLUTION: The method for producing grafted seedlings comprises carrying out layering at a plurality of portions of young branches of a bearing tree as a rootstock, and grafting the scions of the parent tree with their buds or branches at the tip side of the layering portion to grow the scions, so as to obtain a plurality of grafted seedlings by cutting the seedlings from the rooting layered part of the rootstock to which the scions are grafted. Another version of the method comprises grafting the buds or the branches of the scions of the bearing tree at a plurality of portions of the young branches of the bearing tree as the rootstock to graft the scions, and cutting off the grafted scions after taking roots to make cuttages of the scions as cuttage ears so as to make them root, to obtain a plurality of the grafted seedlings.
