Schema Indication System and Method in a Network Environment Including IMS

In one embodiment, a scheme is disclosed for indicating schema information relating to one or more content types of a message body comprised within a message of a communication protocol. A communication protocol message such as a SIP or HTTP message is generated by a sender towards a recipient, wherein the message includes at least one message body part according to a variation of a media type. An indication is included in the communication protocol message to indicate one or more variations of a media type applicable to the message body part.
