The invention relates to coins and can be used for cash money circulation in a state, for producing coins, monetary symbol substitutes, medals, tokens and jewelry and in public health improvement technologies. The inventive coin comprises a body and an insert which is disposed and fixed therein. The coin insert contains a useful substance releasing the particles thereof from the coin body, and the body and/or the insert controls the release of the useful substance particles. Said useful substance can be biologically active. Said invention makes it possible to increase the profit of emission owing to the novel consumer properties of the coin, to reduce the coin production cost, to ensure a high level of protection of the coin against counterfeit and against infection by dangerous bacteria and microbes, to reduce the motivation for spoiling the coin and to promote and popularise means for the wide-scale protection and promotion of public health.
