PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart high biodegradability to an isocyanate prepolymer and a polyurethane elastomer without deteriorating physical properties such as mechanical strength and solvent resistance. SOLUTION: Succinic acid is used as a carboxylic acid that is a raw material for a polyester polyol, and ethylene glycol and/or its oligomer are used as an alcohol component. Thereby, the polyester polyol having a low melting point, a low viscosity and high biodegradability is obtained, and the polyester polyol is used as a raw material for the polyurethane elastomer.
