PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purifier used for the treatment of the chronic renal failure, which has little variation of the capability caused by clogging when volume filtration is performed either by the pre-dilution method or post-dilution method regardless of the quantity of blood, and has gentle variation with time of protein leakage. SOLUTION: The blood purifier has a built-in hollow fiber membrane. Even if the volume filtration having a ratio of filtrated flow rate to blood flow rate of more than 30% is performed, the reduction of the ultrafiltration coefficient caused by clogging is small, and stable filtration is possible in the blood purifier. The blood purifier has such excellent volume liquid substitution characteristics that the ratio of the ultrafiltration coefficient at the first filtration flow velocity 15 ml/min to the ultrafiltration coefficient at the last filtration flow velocity 15 ml/min is at least 80% when the filtration flow velocity is gradually increased from 15 ml/min to 90 ml/min and is returned to 15 ml/min again in a blood circulation experiment.
