PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide photography equipment and a method of photography, which allow important scenes of a moving image and the like a photographer has selected during continuous photography to be marked so as to prevent the important scenes failed to be photographed, to allow the important scenes to be reproduced and checked as soon as the photography is over, and to allow a selection range to be easily corrected. SOLUTION: The photography equipment includes: an image pickup part capable of photographing a moving image and/or still image; an input part for accepting a control command from a user; a recording part for recording the whole or part of an image photographed by the image pickup part; and a control unit. The control unit has: a continuous control means for controlling the image pickup part in a continuous photography state; and an area designation information addition control means for controlling the recording part so that area designation information to be information for designating a partial area to be selectively reproduced by a prescribed reproduction rule is added to part of a continuous photography area, on the basis of the input from the input part.
