PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension system for a vehicle, having an electromagnetic suspension driven by an electric motor and capable of efficiently satisfying different requests in motion control mode and in electric power regeneration mode. SOLUTION: A speed reduction mechanism 30 is connected to an output shaft of the electric motor M, configured so as to change the speed of rotation of the output shaft Ma of the electric motor M, for example, by acceleration or deceleration, and to transmit the rotation to a ball screw mechanism 50.
