The strip (1) has an electrical lighting device (3) arranged at a strip body (2). An electrical energy source (7) independent of an electrical system of a vehicle (4) i.e. passenger car, is arranged for supplying the lighting device with electrical energy at the strip body. The lighting device is adapted regarding its requirements of electric current and voltage to the energy source. A switching device (8) i.e. proximity switch, is arranged for switching-on and switching-off of the lighting device based on a relative position of a moving vehicle part (6) at the strip body.
