PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element molding die capable of stably repeating molding without causing adhesion of fused glass, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a method for processing the same.

SOLUTION: A method for producing an optical element molding die 1 for molding an optical element by press-molding a glass material M is provided. This method comprises the step of forming a surface layer 3 coming into contact with the glass material M in press molding on a die base material 2 comprising cemented carbide or silicon carbide and the heating step of heating the surface layer 3 to oxidize its superficial part into thermally oxidized layer 5.
