PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of solving troubles caused by sound outputted from a sound output part during operation of a main body operation part. SOLUTION: The projector includes: a main body part 2 having a projection part 13 and a loudspeaker 15; a main body operation part 16 having an operation key for operating at least one of the projection part 13 and the loudspeaker 15 and provided on the main body part 2; and a control part. The control part 20 executes volume reduction processing of reducing a set volume V1 set as the volume of sound to be outputted from the loudspeaker 15, to a predetermined prescribed volume V2 if the operation key on the main body operation part 16 is operated and the set volume V1 exceeds the predetermined prescribed volume V2 at this time.
