PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the adjustment of the optical transmission waveform of a light emitting portion and reduce the number of steps at the time of shipping of an optical communication module. SOLUTION: An optical communication module 10 comprises a first module portion 80 constituted by an LD 12A, an LDD 14A, a CDR 16A, a PD 18A, a TIA 20A, and a PA 22A, a second module portion 90 constituted by an LD 12B, an LDD 14B, a CDR 16B, a PD 18B, a TIA 20B, and a PA 22B, a control unit 24 having a CPU for controlling the operation of these module portions, and a power circuit 28 for supplying power to the first and second module portions 80 and 90 and the control unit 24. The control unit 24 adjusts the optical transmission waveform of one LD 12A, and then switches adjustment control to the other LD 12B and adjusts the optical transmission waveform of the LD 12B to which the control is switched. Therefore, the optical transmission waveforms of the plurality of LDs 12A and 12B can be adjusted by one common control unit 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
