PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, for example, an electronic device such as a portable telephone in which a three-dimensional effect can be obtained in display of an operation key, and which has more fresh design in complying with the demand of diversification of an industrial design and decoration of a key unit. SOLUTION: One end face of a plurality of optical fibers 36 is opposed to the entire display area of a display means (a liquid crystal display element) 20 for displaying symbols, numbers, other characters, and pattern images or the like, and an optical fiber bundle 38 is constituted by bundling the plurality of the optical fibers 36 so that the other end face forms the key surface. Display over the entire area of the display area of the display means 20 is made to be highlighted on the key unit 2 after being guided thereon by the optical fiber bundle 38 obtained by bundling the plurality of the optical fibers 36 each having light guiding action.
