PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sanitize a sand pit environment and to provide sand pit where children can play safely and comfortably. SOLUTION: The sand pit includes supporting columns provided so as to be raised around the sand pit, a net member spanned around the sand pit, a wire to hold the suspended net member, a supporting member by spanning the supporting columns, and a sheet type ceiling member provided being supported by the supporting member. A plurality of ceiling members are provided being suspended with a certain space above the sand pit. A wire is connected to the lower part of the ceiling member, by which the above part of the sand pit can be closed. The ceiling member is painted with some colors so that certain patterns appear when the above part of the sand pit is closed. In addition, the ceiling member includes a film to block the UV rays.
