PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus capable of jointly using a transmission pathway for light containing an image signal as a transmission pathway for light supplied from a light source to an electronic endoscope. SOLUTION: This endoscope apparatus 1 includes: an electronic endoscope 10 having an imaging device for acquiring an image signal of a subject, and an image signal output section for converting the image signal into a light signal and outputting it as a first light signal; and a processor 50 having an image signal light receiving section for receiving the first light signal, an image processing section for applying an image processing to the image signal contained in the first light signal, and a light source for supplying an illumination light for illuminating the subject. At least either one of the electronic endoscope 10 and the processor 50 has a common light transmission path for passing the first light signal and the illumination light.
