PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop the lateral opening development of a door body by a sure constitution. SOLUTION: The door body 209 enables a hinge 214 to selectively be arranged on the left side or the right side of the machine body. A front frame reinforcing plate 210, an opening section cover 218, and the door body 209 are constituted of approximately laterally symmetrical separate parts by the left side or right side arrangement. A washing machine external box 201 and a front surface panel member 208 are constituted of the same parts under a left or right side arrangement format. Therefore, the fixation of the front frame reinforcing plate 210 to the washing machine external box 201 is performed with attaching screws of a minimum necessity at the same positional locations regardless of the right/left specification of the door body 209.
