<p>A self-calibrating sensor (10) includes a housing (12), an input lever (16) coupled to the housing and configured to contact a device to be sensed, and an actuating element (26) configured to automatically reposition an output device (30,32) to a calibrated position. The sensor also includes a cam ring (20) that is configured to move the output device to the calibrated position based on an input received from the actuating element and a lock ring (18) coupled to the input lever. In one exemplary embodiment, the output device is an electrical contact assembly (30) that is slidably engaged with the cam ring. During operation, the cam ring is configured to reposition the electrical contact assembly based on the input received from actuating element.</p> |
