The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for using one or more adaptive lenses in medical devices. The apparatus and methods involve the use of one or more adaptive lens components to accomplish such tasks as improving, easing, and simplifying examination of patients, and providing instruments that can be conveniently and rapidly adjusted to accommodate to the clinical and personal physical requirements of medical practitioners.
