PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque transmission shaft having a coating layer reflecting heat rays so as to transmit sufficient torsional strength as a torque transmission shaft even when heated by heat radiated from an adjacent exhaust pipe or catalytic device, and having an insulation layer disposed between the coating layer and a carbon fiber reinforced plastic shaft body to prevent deterioration of the coating layer by electric corrosion between it and the shaft body. SOLUTION: The torque transmission shaft has a shaft having the carbon fiber reinforced plastic shaft body and metallic joint elements installed to both end parts of the shaft. The shaft surface is provided with the coating layer having an effect reflecting heat rays, and the insulation layer is disposed between the coating layer and the shaft body.
