PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic device narrowing a sealing area while ensuring necessary and sufficient moisture resistance. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic device includes: a first substrate 10; an electrophoretic layer 12 disposed on the first substrate; a second substrate 14 disposed oppositely to the first substrate across the electrophoretic layer; a moistureproof member 16 formed of an inorganic material and disposed on the first substrate along edges of the electrophoretic layer and the second substrate; a third substrate 18 disposed oppositely to the first substrate across the electrophoretic layer, the second substrate and the moistureproof member; and a sealing member 20 formed of a resin material and disposed between the first substrate and the third substrate so as to surround the electrophoretic layer and the second substrate.
