PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation unit which brings about shortening of a construction period and reduction of construction steps, is recyclable, and exerts sufficient strength, and to provide a foundation. SOLUTION: The foundation unit is formed of: a lower structure having engaging projections; and an upper structure rigidly arranged on the lower structure and having engaging recesses engageable with the respective engaging projections. Thus, the foundation unit brings about shortening of a construction period and reduction of construction steps, and is recyclable, which leads to reduction of the amount of waste.
