PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod body for a fishing rod and the fishing rod which can easily be operated, even when a fish takes the hook to cause a certain displacement, and which can perform a zestful fishing without giving a strong operation force to the fish. SOLUTION: In this fishing rod, a tip side portion 3B is connected to a butt side portion 3C via an intermediate portion 3A, and the rate of change in rigidity in such a state as to cause a certain displacement in the intermediate portion 3A is set lower than that in such a state as to cause the same displacement in the tip side portion 3B and that in the butt side portion 3C.
