The method involves enabling a motor driven roller brush (5) to take a rotational direction as a result of movement of a sensor (6) from a flexible resting position (8) to an angular position with respect to a rotary axis (7). The brush is shifted in a direction by the displacement of the sensor by a switch device. A sensor shaft coaxially enclosing a brush shaft is arranged to be radially conical. Flexible bristles of the roller brush are arranged to be radial towards the axis. A motor is actively decelerated during a transition of the sensor to the resting position.
