The device (1) has a guide vane mechanism (2) arranged in a housing and comprising a shovel bearing ring (3) with rotatable guide vanes and an adjusting ring (5) arranged coaxial to the shovel bearing ring. The adjusting ring is rotatable regarding the shovel bearing rings via which the guide vanes are adjustable. The adjusting ring is supported in a sliding manner regarding the housing or a cartridge arranged in the housing, and a groove is formed in the cartridge. The adjusting ring has three guiding skids (10a, 10b, 10c) projecting radially outwards.
