A Host Identity Tag, a device and a method for generating the Host Identity Tag, a device and a method for distributing the Host Identity Tag, and a Host Identity Protocol network are provided. The Host Identity Tag includes at least a management domain tag section and a host tag section, and the management domain tag section being a management domain identity of the management domain where a communication device exists, which will use the Host Identity Tag, and the host tag section being a host tag generated by encrypt algorithms. It can ensure the configuration and the delamination of the HIT structurally, thereby ensure the global uniqueness and be convenient for management and query concentratedly, such as when making the HIT lookup search, first searching the identity section of the HI management domain, and then searching the host tag in the range of the HI management domain to improve the query efficiency.
