PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head capable of smooth circulation of ink in an ink jet head, a reduction in the size of an ink jet head chip, and reliable removal of air bubbles. SOLUTION: A main body section 3 includes a first common ink groove 11 communicating with a plurality of ink grooves 6 on the one end side of the ink grooves 6, and a second common ink groove 21 communicating with the ink grooves 6 on the other end side of the ink grooves 6. In the area where a first plane S intersects a first common ink chamber 11a, the area where the first plane S1 intersects the center of a first channel opening 13a is larger than the area where the first plane S1 intersects the endmost ink groove 6 in the direction of Y axis.
