PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing tool suitable for deburring the rear surface of a work and polishing an irregular surface on the rear side of the work, and to provide a processing method. SOLUTION: When burrs W10 produced on the rear surface of the work W are removed, this polishing tool having a coiled spring 50 in the holder 30 is used. When the holder 30 is moved upward so that a stone 10 is hooked to the periphery of a through-hole W1 on the rear side of the work W, the coiled spring 50 biases a shank 21 upward, and the stone 10 is always properly brought into elastic contact with the rear surface side of the work W.
