<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform generation of a brake liquid pressure without failure at an abnormal time while enhancing brake feeling in starting of brake operation at a normal time. <P>SOLUTION: A master cylinder includes a relief port 56a, an output port 12a arranged at a front side than the relief port 56a and a return port 57 in a liquid chamber 44 divided at a front side of a piston 42 slidably fitted to the inside of a cylinder 41. The output port 12a is communicated with wheel cylinders 15, 16 and a liquid chamber 29 of a stroke simulator 25, and the relief port 56a is communicated with a reservoir 31 and is communicated with a back chamber 30 of the stroke simulator 25 through a reflection force allowance valve 32 opened at the normal time of motor cylinders 19F, 19R and closed at the abnormal time.
