PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein rotational resistance may occur due to compression of a tilt screw. SOLUTION: In this electric tilt steering device with the tilt screw 7 rotatably supported by a lower jacket 3a, a motor 8 is jointed to the tilt screw 7, a movable nut member 9 is screwed, a swinging arm 6 is swingably jointed to a vehicle body through a second swinging shaft 5, one side of the swinging arm 6 in the swinging direction is jointed to the lower jacket 3a, and the other side in the swinging direction is jointed to a movable nut member 9, one edge side of the tilt screw 7 is rotatably supported by the lower jacket 3a through a large diameter part 7b and a C-ring 11, and a spline internal tooth 7a is formed on an inner circumference surface on the other end side to joint an output rotational shaft 12 having a spline external tooth 12a to the motor 8, thus engaging the output rotational shaft 12 with the spline internal tooth 7a.
