PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device that enables a number of operations with few actions of the remote control device without bearing combinations of many operational contents and actions of the device in mind. SOLUTION: The remote control device includes: posture detection means 3, 4, 7-9 for detecting a posture of a housing 1; motion detection means 3, 4, 7-12 for detecting the amount of motion of the housing 1; and operational signal output means 5 to output a signal for operating an electrical device 2 based on the detected posture and amount of motion. The device includes: setting means 3 for setting operational object items of the electrical device 2 in accordance with a posture detected by the posture detection means 3, 4, 7-9; and operational amount setting means 3 for setting the amount of operation of the operational object item set by the setting means 3 based on the detected acceleration and angular velocity, and include a construction to output a signal based on the operational object item set by the setting means 3 and the amount of operation set by the operational amount setting means 3.
