PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic shock absorber improved in economic efficiency by efficiently supplying lubricating oil to a sliding part between the inner periphery of a cylinder and the outer periphery of a piston without injecting a large quantity of the lubricating oil. SOLUTION: This pneumatic shock absorber has a circulating passage R formed between the cylinder 3 and an outer cylinder 2, the piston 5 movably inserted into the cylinder 3 via a piston rod 6 and partitioning the inside of this cylinder 3 into a rod side chamber 40 and a piston side chamber 50, and connection passages 19 and 20 connecting the circulating passage R and the rod side chamber 40, and always makes the lubricating oil remain in the circulating passage R by filling working gas into the cylinder 3. A guide member 24 is arranged at the outer periphery of the piston rod 6 for introducing the lubricating oil O flowing out of the connection passage 20 and the lubricating oil O leaking out of a clearance between the piston rod 6 and a rod guide 12 to the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 3.
