PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head mounting device preventing a positional deviation between a thermal head and a platen roller and facilitating maintenance. SOLUTION: The thermal head mounting device is provided for a thermal printer carrying out printing by the heat generation of a heating element group 32 arranged in a line, to a printing medium conveyed between the thermal head 30 and a platen, wherein the thermal head 30 is fixed to a head bracket 20 in the actualized state of the heating element group 32. The head bracket 20 is detachably attached by a rugged fitting method to a bracket holding mechanism 10 for holding the head bracket 20 so that the heating element group 32 of the thermal head 20 are positioned into a location to face the platen through the printing medium.
