PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating rod for permanent waves which is lightweight and permits a rod base material to be uniformly heated. SOLUTION: A nearly cylindrical heating member 20 is engaged inside a nearly cylindrical rod base material 10. A resistance circuit 21 is formed on the surface of the heating member 20 in the form of a tapestry. One end of the heating member 20 has a sensor storage section 22 radially inwardly concavely provided in the form of a groove. The sensor storage section 22 stores a thermocouple 23 and a thermistor 24, and a pin 25 is attached as to thrust out toward the shaft center from the sensor storage section 22.
