<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measuring device that has high resolution and can perform accurate measurement. <P>SOLUTION: This distance measuring device comprises a rough distance measuring circuit 18 using a time delay circuit, a precise distance measuring circuit 31 for measuring the direction of the vector of carrier wave and measuring the distance, and the sum of these becomes the final output. The rough distance measuring circuit 18 has a long measuring span and low accuracy. The precise distance measuring circuit 18 has a short measuring span and high accuracy.
