PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve stability in machining, to further improve machining accuracy, and to extend a service life of a chip by enabling fine adjustment of a cutting edge position without reducing a fixing power of the chip in a cutting tool such as a face milling cutter. SOLUTION: A cutting edge adjusting mechanism 1A is provided with: a body 2; a chip support 3 having a chip seat 4 provided at the end thereof and also having a first slit 5 provided between the chip support 3 and the body 2; a coupling 6 connecting the chip support with the body 2; an input 7 extending from the chip support 3; and an adjusting screw 8 for applying force to the input 7 while receiving reactive force on the body 2 for elastically deforming the coupling 6, wherein the input 7 is provided at an open end of the first slit 5.
